Simon John Taylor passed away on 30th October 2007 aged 40yrs.
He had struggled with illness through most of his life, but not once did you hear him complain.
He was a wonderful person whom i only knew for a short time, so i will let others fill you in on their memories of simon as they knew him.
I can tell you that he was a great fisherman and had some lovely fishing holidays in France.
Rest in Peace Si, it was a pleasure to have known you.
Hello matey, another year flies by. We didn't do too well at Woodpecker this year, the fish were in the mood for spawning not feeding :-( We did have some nice fish out though topped by a 68lb catfish for yours truly. I hooked it at about 3am and payed it for nearly an hour on my own. I must admit to thinking of our late night fishy exploits whilst my mind wandered during the battle. Once again mate, the trip was devastating without you there. Your little Sis looked stunning at her wedding, as I'm sure you know. A fantastic day was had by all and once again you were constantly in peoples thoughts. Might not be going fishing in 2011, as I have a big birthday coming up.....30 hey...who'd believe it.... :-) To be honest mate, it's not been the same without you.
Good morning mate, here we are again...another birthday, anniversary or special date passed by...43 years old...you never looked a day over 25 :-). I booked the ferry ticket for our Woodpecker trip yesterday, £38 return!! Hopefully we'll bank a few biggies in your honour. I'm really hoping Dave catches one of the big cats, as he'd a have a 60lb+ carp & Catfish under his belt....flash git! All go here as I'm sure you know...I think your beloved LFC will have new manager in the summer, that's a shame really as the current muppett is doing a great job keeping you out of the title race. Anyway mate, you're still in all out thoughts, take care.
Thinking of You!
Simon,
Another Year Dawns,
As Always I am Thinking of You.!
Forever in my Thoughts.

2 Years On.......
Well fella, here we are 2 years after we heard the devastating news.... Time, as they say is a great healer.....hmmm, I'm not sure that anyone who knew you would agree with that!! As I think I've said before, without you there the wine in France isn't quite as nice, the fish aren't quite so special and the company's definitely not as good :-) (apologies to all concerned....). However you were toasted every day in September and you always will be when we're doing what you did best. Take care mate, we all miss you more than you know. Scott

General Ramblings
Hello mate, just looking at some old fishing photo's and instantly thought of you. We did really well at La Folie in August...caught over 60 fish and I managed to get bitten by the 120lb+ catfish...whoops!! LFC are top of the league mate.... enjoy! We're trying a new venue in 2009, bit nearer Calais and we'll be camping all week...cooking our own food and everything!! We'll ensure that your life gets toasted several times during the week. Dave hopes that it doesn't rain as much as it did in Holland when you all went bivvy based for a holiday!! Tight Lines Buddy.
Simon.
No special day is needed
For us to think of you.
You are always in our thoughts and heart,
Whatever we may do.
Because you were so special,
No words can ever say,
How much we love amd miss you,
Every single day.
ALL OUR LOVE
Auntie Enid, Chris, Steve, Deborah
Andrew and Families.
from MUM
You can shed tears he is gone, or you can smile that he has lived,
You can close your eyes and pray he will come back, or you can open your eyes and see all he has left,
Your heart can be empty because you can't see him, or can be full of the love you have shared,
You can turn your back on tomorrow & live yesterday,
or you can be happy tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember him only that he has gone, or you can cherish his memory & let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back , or you can do what he would want - smile, open your eyes, love laugh and go on.
Woodpecker 2008
Hi mate, long time no contact...sorry about that, been really busy at work....I know that's no bloody excuse, stop scowling at me! I thought I'd update you on our fishing in France...I said I'd break a record for you...well I caught a 58lb 8oz catfish which was indeed my record...so there's one for you fella. It was really really hard to be there without you. Both Dave & myself found ourselves looking out around the lake trying to and expecting to see you somewhere. We had a glass of wine, a cigar and a walk round the lake thinking of you....but I guess you know all that as we felt that cheeky grin looking down at us several times through the week. We're off to La Folie in August, so that'll be hard too....even more memories to unravel. There'll be a memorial bench there for you, it'll have a plaque and everything, will do my best for you again. Take care buddy, miss you loads.
